Amazónico, a well-known restaurant with locations in Dubai, London, Madrid, and Monte Carlo, is set to open its first U.S. branch in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. The restaurant has leased about 40,000 square feet across three floors at the 800 Brickell office tower located at 800 Brickell Avenue. Babak Ebrahimzadeh of Gatsby Enterprises, which owns the building, confirmed the lease.

The new space will include Amazónico’s nightclub Selva on the top level of the leased area. Both venues are scheduled to open late next month. According to Ebrahimzadeh, the restaurant can seat around 700 guests at once and accommodate over 1,300 guests each night.

Amazónico was founded in 2016 by Sandro Silva and Marta Seco in Madrid. Silva and Seco also lead Paraguas Group, part of London-based hospitality group D.ream International.

Gatsby Enterprises is led by Ebrahimzadeh and Nader Ohebshalom. In 2019, Gatsby acquired both the 800 Brickell building and an adjacent nine-story garage for $125.5 million.

In West Palm Beach, DUS Padel plans to open its first club in a 26,500-square-foot space at 2031 Okeechobee Boulevard next year. The facility will offer indoor courts as well as amenities such as cold plunges, saunas, and a café. John Winter, Jason Warren and Alec Solomon of Stream Realty Partners represented DUS Padel in the transaction; Lindsey Morriss Meyers of Southeast Retail Advisors represents the landlord.

DUS Padel was founded last year by Philippe Urreiztieta and will take over a location previously occupied by American Freight after its parent company filed for bankruptcy nationwide last November (https://www.retaildive.com/news/american-freight-parent-franchise-group-bankruptcy-liquidation/703768/). The property is owned by Okee Realty Associates.

Meanwhile in North Miami Beach, Pala Mediterranean Kitchen has preleased a new location at Aura North Miami Beach—a mixed-use project under construction—expanding from its original Hollywood site. Other tenants preleasing space include The Missing Peace occupational therapy center and Sunrisas Dental Miami; earlier deals included Florentin Bakery and Mimi Yoga.

Aura North Miami Beach is being developed by Macken Companies (led by CEO Alan Macken) along with Trinsic Residential Group (led by CEO Brian Tusa). When completed next year in Q2 it will feature eight stories with 373 apartments and approximately 17,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor plus an exterior covered retail terrace measuring about 9,000 square feet.

Wells Fargo has signed a ten-year lease for a new branch totaling 4,000 square feet at 1207 Southeast 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale according to brokers representing both parties involved. This location will replace an existing Wells Fargo branch nearby when it opens next year during Q2. The property owner is W D Cordova LLC.

Finally Minto Communities USA has moved its headquarters within Coconut Creek but remains local after leasing a larger office at Promenade at Coconut Creek where about seventy-five employees will work onsite going forward; Boston-based AEW Capital Management owns that complex.
