BayCare Health System has released its 2024 Physician and Provider Annual Report, titled Vital Impact. The report details the contributions of BayCare’s physicians and clinical teams, emphasizing the organization’s role as a leading not-for-profit health care system in West Central Florida.
The annual report notes that BayCare continues to be recognized for its focus on quality, safety, and patient experience. The organization has adopted new care models and technologies to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
BayCare serves a significant portion of the region, providing about one in every three health care services in West Central Florida. The system credits its ability to attract skilled physicians, implement advanced medical interventions, and deliver high-quality care for its continued growth.
The report highlights several milestones achieved in 2024. According to the Provider as Customer Survey, BayCare received a 4.35 engagement score, placing it at the 79th percentile nationally. This is seen as evidence of a highly engaged workforce and ongoing improvements in provider satisfaction.
Collaboration between physicians led to ten of BayCare’s eligible acute-care hospitals earning an “A” grade from Leapfrog, which is the highest rating from the patient safety group. Additionally, BayCare launched its Clinical Institutes during the year.
Looking ahead, BayCare plans to expand academic medicine and research initiatives. In June 2024, it announced a strategic collaboration with Northwestern Medicine and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The organization also expects to increase its graduate medical education residency positions to more than 650 by 2029.
“Clinical excellence – BayCare’s north star – continues to shine alongside our renowned compassionate care,” according to the report.
