The U.S. Census Bureau released on April 9 a downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.
These new data provide demographic details that can help government agencies, researchers, and policymakers plan for services and analyze trends across the country.
According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. Further releases will offer breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas such as metropolitan regions and counties. The bureau also plans to release Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio population estimates by age and sex.
There is no separate news release associated with this product; instead, it was announced through a tip sheet from the Census Bureau.
As these detailed datasets become available throughout the year, they are expected to support decision-making at multiple levels of government and contribute to ongoing research into demographic changes.
