The U.S. Census Bureau will conduct a prerelease webinar on September 4, 2025, to discuss the upcoming release of the 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates. The public release of these statistics is scheduled for September 11, 2025.
The ACS provides detailed data on various aspects of the U.S. population and housing, including topics such as language spoken at home, education levels, commuting patterns, employment status, mortgage and rent information, income, poverty rates, and health insurance coverage. For many of its more than 40 topics, the ACS is the only source offering local-level estimates.
Embargo subscribers will be able to access the one-year statistics starting September 9 at 10 a.m. ET. This embargoed access covers all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, congressional districts, metropolitan statistical areas, and other regions with populations of at least 65,000 people. The embargo period ends on September 11 at 12:01 a.m. ET; distribution services are not permitted to share news stories or data files before this time according to the Census Bureau’s embargo policy. All datasets will become publicly available by September 11 at 10 a.m. ET.
Those interested in embargo access can register through www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/archives/embargoed_releases.
The prerelease webinar will feature Caleb Hopler from the American Community Survey Office and Jewel Jordan from the Public Information Office. The session will include an audio conference and online presentation format; attendees can participate in Q&A during and after the event using provided features.
Registration for the webinar is available at https://www.census.gov/data/academy/webinars/2025/2024-acs-1-year-estimates-prerelease.html.
