Dennis R. Rogero, Jr., Chief Financial Officer for the City of Tampa, has been appointed to the Florida League of Cities 2025-2026 Finance and Taxation Committee. The committee is one of five legislative policy groups that help guide the League’s priorities on issues affecting municipal governance across Florida.

Rogero’s appointment was made by Holly D. Smith, President of the Florida League of Cities and Vice Mayor of Sanibel. As a member of the Legislative Policy Committee, Rogero will assist in developing the League’s Legislative Platform and provide input on how proposed legislation may impact city operations throughout the state.

“I’m honored to contribute to the Finance and Taxation Committee. Sound fiscal policy is the foundation of strong communities, and this committee plays a vital role in shaping how cities across Florida are able to invest in services, infrastructure, and quality of life,” said CFO Dennis Rogero. “I look forward to bringing Tampa’s perspective and experience to these statewide discussions.”

“Dennis has dedicated much of his career to strengthening Tampa’s financial foundation, and his appointment reflects that expertise,” added Mayor Jane Castor. “His voice on this committee will ensure our city, and others across Florida, are well represented in critical policy discussions.”

Rogero has served with the City of Tampa since 2009 in several roles including Budget Operations Manager, Budget Officer, Neighborhood Empowerment Director, Mayor’s Chief of Staff, and now as Chief Financial Officer overseeing accounting functions, grants management, investments, pension administration and budget planning for the city. Before joining Tampa’s administration he worked nearly a decade with Brevard County as Assistant Budget Director then Budget Director.

He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Central Florida and professional certifications as both a Government Finance Officer and Public Pension Trustee.

A full list of committee members along with details about each committee can be found through resources provided by the Florida League of Cities.
