Florida’s Department of Education has allocated $40 million to expand workforce education programs throughout the state. The funding, awarded by Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP), will focus on industries that are currently in high demand.

According to the department, this investment will strengthen 49 programs statewide and is expected to increase workforce capacity for these programs by 59 percent. Since Workforce CAP began in 2023, Florida has invested a total of $240 million in workforce education initiatives.

“Florida’s workforce is stronger than ever because we are investing directly in students and the programs that prepare them for success,” said Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas. “This $40 million investment expands opportunities across the state, giving students access to cutting-edge training and ensuring Florida remains the best place to build a career.”

The grant program supports both new and existing workforce development efforts at high schools and postsecondary institutions. It provides hands-on training designed to help students earn industry-recognized certifications needed for employment in growing sectors.

More information about the grant program and application details can be found on the CAP Grant page of the Florida Department of Education website.
