Business and community leaders in Northwest Florida will have the chance to hear about the region’s economic outlook at an upcoming event hosted by the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce. Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, will deliver a Florida Business Update on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Crosspoint Niceville.

Wilson, who leads the state’s largest business advocacy group, will discuss business growth in Okaloosa County, recent legislative developments, and data from TheFloridaScorecard.org. His presentation will address future economic opportunities in Northwest Florida, workforce development, and infrastructure needs important for the area’s long-term success.

“Florida is experiencing historic growth, and communities like Niceville and Valparaiso are clearly leading the way in talent, innovation, and quality of life,” Wilson said. “Our job at the Florida Chamber is to unite the business community around solutions that keep Florida competitive, create high-wage jobs, and build a stronger economy that works for every family and every business. I look forward to discussing the data and strategies that will keep Northwest Florida thriving.”

Wilson also noted, “According to TheFloridaScorecard.org, Florida is projected to grow by more than 800 people per day through 2030, which creates both opportunities and challenges for regions like Okaloosa County. From ensuring we have the right talent pipeline to meeting infrastructure demands, the choices we make today will determine whether Florida continues to lead the hemisphere in competitiveness.”

Wilson was named Floridian of the Year by Florida Trend in 2023 and is recognized as a prominent advocate for Florida’s business sector.

Tricia Brunson, President and CEO of the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, said, “We’re excited to have Mark Wilson provide a business update for our chamber members and valued leaders in our community. Through initiatives like the Florida 2030 Blueprint and the Six Pillars of Florida’s Future Economy, the Florida Chamber has mobilized statewide leaders to advance policies that strengthen talent supply, economic diversification, infrastructure investment, and community competitiveness. We are proud partners in this work and welcome Mark’s thought leadership in securing the future of Okaloosa County.”

The event is expected to bring together business owners, local leaders, and elected officials from Okaloosa County and surrounding areas to discuss trends influencing the region’s future.

The Florida Chamber of Commerce represents employers, chambers of commerce, and associations throughout Florida. For over a century, it has worked to unite businesses in creating jobs and supporting economic growth across the state. More information about its work can be found at www.flchamber.com.
