Business and policy leaders are set to meet at the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2025 Florida Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure Solution Summit. The event will bring together asset owners, developers, engineers, logistics firms, economic developers, and policymakers to discuss strategies for managing Florida’s continued population growth and infrastructure needs.

The summit will focus on several key issues facing the state. Topics include international trade and seaport strategy, energy development, broadband expansion, affordable workforce housing, transportation systems, and infrastructure requirements for the aerospace sector.

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Secretary Jared Perdue is scheduled to deliver a keynote presentation with early insights into FDOT’s Florida Transportation Plan 2055. Other speakers include Beth Cooley of Amazon; Rob Long of Space Florida; Bryan Griffin of VISIT FLORIDA; Ashley Dietz of the Florida Philanthropic Network; Matt Swanson from SelectFlorida and FloridaCommerce; Captain John W. Murray from Port Canaveral; Kevin Carr of FloridaMakes; Jessica Ottaviano from FDOT; among others.

During the summit, the Florida Chamber Foundation will release a new study examining how an undercount in the 2020 Census—estimated at about 750,000 missed residents—impacted federal funding for counties across the state. According to research by the Foundation, this undercount resulted in approximately $11 billion in lost federal tax dollars that would have supported community reinvestment and infrastructure projects.

“Florida is projected to add more than 2.5 million residents by 2030, welcome 40 million annual visitors, and see roughly 2.1 million new drivers on its roadways,” said Dr. Keith Richard, Vice President of Research for the Florida Chamber Foundation. “These insights highlight the importance of an accurate 2030 Census count to make certain Florida’s communities receive their fair share of federal funding and have community investments that keep pace with our state’s growth. We’ll be unveiling a research study at the Summit showing how much federal funding each Florida county missed out on due to the 2020 Census undercount.”

Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Foundation stated: “As Florida continues to grow, our infrastructure must not only keep pace but lead the way. At the Florida Chamber Foundation, we are uniting business, policy, and community leaders to position Florida competitively on a global scale while building the foundation for long-term prosperity.”
