Florida insurance leaders and national experts will gather at the 2025 Florida Chamber Annual Insurance Summit to discuss ongoing challenges in the state’s insurance market. The summit, now in its 18th year, comes as new carrier entries, rate reductions, and reduced litigation costs have brought some optimism to the sector. However, Florida is still considered a risky market for insurers.
The two-day event will bring together global industry leaders for discussions focused on stabilizing and growing the insurance market in Florida. Topics will include auto insurance, reinsurance and risk transfer, artificial intelligence applications in insurance, fraud prevention, medical malpractice rates, commercial auto coverage, and executive perspectives on industry trends.
Keynote speaker Michael Yaworsky, Insurance Commissioner of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, will address attendees about the current state of Florida’s insurance market. Other notable speakers include Tim Cerio from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation; Gina Wilson from the Florida Hurricane Fund; Bob Ricker from the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association; Rob Henderson from Meenan Law Firm; Lindsey Klarkowski from National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies; Dr. Chuck Nyce from Florida State University College of Business; Ashley Kalifeh from Capital City Consulting; William Large from Florida Justice Reform Institute; Alix Miller from Florida Trucking Association; Steve Weinstein from Mangrove Insurance; and others representing legal firms and industry organizations.
“Over the last two and a half years, we’ve seen historic insurance reforms begin to take root and benefit consumers, but we’re not done yet,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “The Insurance Summit is where Florida’s leaders come together to discuss the future of Florida’s insurance market, protecting consumers, and making Florida the best place to live, work, learn, and do business.”
The summit begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday December 4 at JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes and continues through Friday December 5. The event offers networking opportunities for business leaders, lawmakers, regulators and executives interested in collaborating on solutions for key issues affecting Floridians’ access to affordable coverage.
