As autumn arrives, Florida marks the season not by changing leaves but by the start of citrus harvesting. Steve Johnson, Chairman of the Florida Citrus Commission, highlighted this tradition and noted the hard work that goes into preparing for harvest time.
Johnson described a sense of determination and optimism among growers and industry members as the harvest begins. He referenced the recent Florida Citrus Commission (FCC) meeting held on October 22, where all 11 commission members participated either in person or digitally. Industry partners also attended to present updates and recommendations through various committees within the Florida Department of Citrus.
Johnson reminded stakeholders that there is no FCC meeting scheduled for November. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 17 at 9:00 a.m. at the Bartow headquarters.
