The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is set to hold a Commission Conference on Thursday, September 4, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee and will be followed by an Internal Affairs meeting and the annual 10-Year Site Plan workshop.

According to the PSC, items scheduled for consideration during the conference are available for review. “Public comment may be taken on any item noticed for public participation. Individuals interested in participating should contact the PSC’s Office of General Counsel at 850-413-6199,” the commission stated.

After the Internal Affairs meeting, the PSC will conduct its workshop focused on Florida’s electric utilities’ 10-year site plans. These plans detail expected system upgrades and changes necessary to ensure reliable service over the next ten years.

The workshop agenda includes presentations from both the Electric Power Research Institute and the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council, Inc., which will provide further insights into long-term planning and reliability concerns for Florida’s power grid.

By law, the PSC must review these utility site plans each year to determine if they are “suitable” or “unsuitable.” The commission’s findings are then sent to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for use in certifying new power plants and transmission lines.

A live broadcast of both the Commission Conference and Workshop will be available through the PSC website (click “Watch Live and Archived PSC Events”). Additional coverage may also appear on The Florida Channel depending on local listings.
