IAM opens applications for 2026 scholarship competition for members and their children

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will begin accepting applications on October 1, 2025. The deadline for submission is February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Applications must be submitted online.

Eligibility for the competition extends to IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. Details about application procedures, rules, and eligibility can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page or by downloading official materials provided in English and French.

In the previous year’s competition, more than 300 applicants participated. The IAM awarded 16 scholarships worth $4,000 each to qualifying members and their children. A vocational-technical two-year scholarship is also included among the awards.

According to the organization, “The IAM Scholarship Fund, used exclusively to make these awards possible, was established by the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention delegates.”
