IAM Union members and supporters of Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) convened in Las Vegas for a series of fundraising events to support the organization’s mission. The gathering, which is an annual tradition for the union, included activities such as a sporting clay shoot, race car driving, ax throwing, golf, and a gala dinner.

Brian Bryant, International President of the IAM Union, expressed appreciation for those who attended and contributed to the event. “I want to thank everyone who participated and sponsored this year’s charity week. Your support helps us continue our work with GDA | TLC,” said Bryant on behalf of the IAM Executive Council.

The Saturday night gala had a baseball theme and drew more than 1,000 attendees. During the event, the “Gift of Sight” awards were presented to David Sullivan (IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President), Arthur Maratea (TCU/IAM National President), and Southwest Airlines.

Speakers at the gala discussed how service dogs have improved recipients’ lives. One Canadian military veteran shared his story about living with PTSD and how his service dog Oakley has helped him.

The funds raised will help GDA | TLC provide service dogs to people who are blind or have disabilities such as PTSD or autism.
