Josh Hartford, Special Assistant to the International President for the IAM Union Rail Division, spoke to delegates at the IAM New Mexico State Council meeting, offering an update on the rail industry and recognizing IAM Local 331’s first participation in the council.

Hartford discussed several key topics affecting rail workers, such as ongoing contract negotiations, workforce safety, and federal policy efforts focused on protecting union jobs.

“The IAM Rail Division continues to give members a strong voice in the rail industry here in New Mexico,” said Hartford. “We’re fighting every day to make sure our members are being seen and rewarded for the critical work they do throughout the state.”

He also praised IAM Local 331 for its engagement and solidarity with other delegates at the council, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the Rail Division and state councils.

The involvement of the IAM Rail Division in the New Mexico State Council highlights the union’s ongoing efforts to support rail workers’ rights and expand its influence within the industry.
