Thousands of pop culture fans are expected to gather at the Tampa Convention Center from Friday, August 1, through Sunday, August 3, for the return of the Tampa Bay Comic Convention. The event will feature celebrity guests, artists, panels, photo opportunities, and merchandise.

The convention attracts enthusiasts from various genres including comics, anime, and science fiction. Attendees will be present in and around the downtown area during registration hours: Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City officials warn that both vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected to increase throughout the weekend near the convention center. “Tampa Police will be stationed at crosswalks to assist with the influx,” according to city organizers. Parking garages in the vicinity are also anticipated to experience higher than normal demand.

Residents and visitors are advised to consider alternative transportation options such as the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, HART buses, rideshare services, or rentable scooters.
