Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Marc Anthony has sold his condo at One Thousand Museum in downtown Miami for $8.6 million, according to property records and the listing. Anthony, whose full name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, purchased the 8,400-square-foot townhouse unit in 2021 for $11 million. The recent sale price represents a loss of about 22 percent from what he originally paid.
The five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom unit was sold by a trust controlled by Anthony’s manager, Charles Koppelman. The property was first listed last year for $11.4 million and had most recently been asking $9.9 million before selling for $1,024 per square foot.
Anamaria Velasquez of Nexxos Realty represented the seller in the transaction, while Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer. Records indicate that Shadi LLC, a Delaware-based company, acquired the condo.
Anthony previously sold a waterfront mansion in Coral Gables’ Cocoplum neighborhood in 2020 for $22.4 million. He is recognized as the top-selling salsa artist of all time with over 12 million albums sold worldwide and has received four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
One Thousand Museum has attracted several high-profile buyers including soccer player David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham, who also own another waterfront home in Miami Beach.
The building was designed by Zaha Hadid and features an exoskeleton architectural style around its balconies. Developed by Louis Birdman, Gilberto Bomeny, Kevin Venger, Gregg Covin and Todd Michael Glaser, it was completed in 2019 with 62 stories and 84 units.
Earlier this year billionaire hedge fund manager Ken Griffin listed his penthouse at One Thousand Museum for $23 million; it is now priced at $23.8 million after having previously sold for $18 million in 2021.
