The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach has added two new retailers to its tenant roster. Swedish candy shop ScandyCandy began operations on Saturday, while British childrenswear boutique La Coqueta opened last month at The Current, a retail hub within the plaza, according to statements from the landlord.

ScandyCandy was established by brothers Calle and Wille Olsed and operates another U.S. location at 241 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. La Coqueta, under the direction of founder and creative director Celia Muñoz, also maintains a store in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Royal Poinciana Plaza was originally built in the 1950s and offers 192,000 square feet of luxury retail space along with gardens and two courtyards. WS Development, based in Boston, holds the lease for the property. Records indicate that ownership belongs to a trust led by Sidney Spiegel. The plaza is located at 340 Royal Poinciana Way. Details regarding the specific size of spaces leased by ScandyCandy and La Coqueta were not disclosed.

Separately, Herman Law has maintained its headquarters in Boca Raton and expanded its office there. The law firm now occupies 18,000 square feet at 1800 North Military Trail—an increase from its previous 10,000-square-foot space in the same building—according to a spokesperson for Herman Law. The firm employs about 200 people across eight offices nationwide including locations in New York City; Buffalo, New York; Los Angeles; San Diego; Sacramento; and plans an additional office in Baltimore.

Joe Freitas of CBRE represented the landlord during this transaction.

The four-story building at 1800 North Military Trail is part of Boca Center’s mixed-use complex. In 2022, Macquarie Capital | Principal Finance partnered with Vanderbilt Office Properties to acquire most of Boca Center for $261.5 million; this included paying $76.1 million for the North Military Trail property as part of that deal. Macquarie Capital serves as the financing and investment arm of Sydney-based Macquarie Group under CEO Shemara Wikramanayake. Vanderbilt Office Properties is headquartered in Chicago and led by CEO Casey Wold.
