Success Academy, a prominent charter school network, will open its first Florida campus in Miami. The announcement was made by Governor Ron DeSantis, who said the move is part of the state’s Schools of Hope initiative. This initiative aims to provide more educational options for families in areas with persistently low-performing schools.

“Florida leads the nation in educational freedom, and today we are adding to that promise,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “With Success Academy opening in Miami, students will now have access to one of the highest-performing education models in the country. Florida’s families deserve world-class education, and we will continue to make it available to every child no matter their zip code.”

The new school will give parents and students another option beyond traditional public schools. Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas highlighted the role of state leadership in expanding choices for families: “Under Governor DeSantis’ leadership, parents are empowered to choose the educational path that best suits their children’s unique needs,” said Kamoutsas. “Success Academy offers families another high-quality option, backed by a nationally recognized track record of academic excellence and school improvement.”

The Schools of Hope program began in 2017 with the goal of helping students in underperforming schools access better educational opportunities. The program works with nonprofit charter networks known as Hope Operators, which focus on serving low-income families and closing achievement gaps.

Governor DeSantis has introduced various statutes and initiatives to increase educational options for students across Florida.
