The City of Tampa has announced changes to its trash collection schedule in observance of Labor Day. City offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Residential customers who normally receive service on Mondays will not have garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection on Labor Day. There will be no make-up day for these customers; service will resume on the next scheduled collection day. Regular residential schedules are set to continue starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Commercial customers may see some delays in their collection services during this period. Normal commercial collection schedules are expected to resume on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will also be closed on Labor Day and is scheduled to reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 2.
Residents can access personalized trash and recycling schedules by downloading the Tampa Trash and Recycling app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
