Tampa has fully implemented a new traffic management platform called One.network, aiming to improve travel for drivers as the holiday season approaches. The City of Tampa now uses this technology to help reduce congestion and enhance safety in work zones.

One.network allows city staff and construction crews to quickly update information about work zones, road closures, and other traffic issues. These updates are sent directly to major GPS providers such as Google, Waze, and Apple Maps within minutes. This process replaces older methods like spreadsheets and emails.

The public can view a real-time map of current road conditions at tampa.gov/road-closures. The map displays icons that indicate the type of work being done, expected traffic impacts, and project timelines.

The City began using One.network in January 2024. Other agencies in the region, including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Hillsborough County, and the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA), also use this platform. This regional approach helps agencies coordinate on construction projects and traffic concerns across different jurisdictions.

Because multiple agencies share information through One.network, Tampa’s traffic managers have access to updates beyond city limits. This helps them better anticipate potential problems that could affect local drivers and improve overall work zone safety by providing advance notice about upcoming construction projects.

Drivers are reminded to always follow posted signage and exercise caution around work zones.
