Tampa Police have arrested Jamarcus Harris, 22, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man earlier this month. The incident occurred on September 1, 2025, just before 7:30 pm in the 4700 block of Citrus Circle. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found the victim with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate aid from Tampa Police and Tampa Fire Rescue, the man died at the scene.
Investigators began their work by interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. They received tips that identified Harris as a suspect. According to initial findings, Harris and the victim knew each other and had argued before the shooting.
Detectives continued to gather evidence linking Harris to the crime, which led to a warrant for his arrest. On Thursday morning, detectives apprehended Harris without incident.
“The outstanding efforts of our investigators have ensured this suspect will be held accountable for his choices,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “There are no disagreements, arguments, or differing opinions that should ever result in the loss of a life, and those who choose to use a gun to resolve a dispute will face justice.”
Harris faces charges of Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He has been taken to Orient Road Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
