The Tampa Police Department is continuing its investigation into the fatal shooting that took place on Woodville Street early in the morning of September 11, 2025. Detectives report progress in the case as they gather evidence and follow up on several leads provided by community members.
“Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be the critical part of solving this case,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Thanks to the tips we have received to this point, we have been able to move this investigation forward. We need the community to continue to partner with us so we can hold those responsible accountable and ensure we make Tampa safer for everyone.”
The incident resulted in the death of 17-year-old Tariq De’Shawn Marshall and left five other men, aged between 19 and 22, injured. Investigators believe that a prior dispute led to the shooting and that it was not a random act.
Authorities have increased the reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. The Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, working with the Florida Office of Attorney General, is offering up to $4,500 through June 30, 2026. Tips must be submitted via Crime Stoppers and result in identification and arrest of suspects to qualify for this enhanced reward.
Additionally, up to $5,000 is being offered by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for information resulting in identification, arrest, and conviction related to this incident. The total possible reward now stands at up to $15,000.
