Tampa Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place on Sunday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 9:20 am on November 2, 2025, when a 70-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle while crossing E. Fowler Ave, just west of N. 30th St. According to police, the bicyclist was crossing from south to north in the middle of the block and was not using a marked crosswalk.
The vehicle involved in the collision was a 2016 Hyundai driven by an adult female who was heading westbound on E. Fowler Ave and changing lanes from the center to the inside lane at the time of impact.
Police officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the bicyclist died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased onsite.
Following the accident, traffic along Fowler Ave was redirected for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police found no evidence that speed or impairment played a role in the crash, and no charges were filed against the driver.

The striking vehicle, a 2016 Hyundai, was traveling westbound on E. Fowler Ave. The adult female driver of the Hyundai was changing lanes from the center to the inside lane at the time of the impact.
Although officers immediately attempted life-saving measures, the bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Traffic along Fowler Ave was rerouted for several hours while the investigation was ongoing. The driver remained on scene, fully cooperative with investigators who determined that there was no evidence to suggest that speed or impairment were contributing factors in this collision. No charges were filed against the driver.”
