Tampa Police investigate hit-and-run that injured bicyclist on Dale Mabry Hwy

Tampa Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that occurred early Wednesday morning on Dale Mabry Highway near Mango Avenue. According to authorities, the crash took place just after 2:30 a.m. when a silver SUV struck a bicyclist.

The victim, described as an adult white male, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect vehicle as a silver 2019 Chevy Equinox with Florida tag JUVE12. The driver was last seen heading eastbound on W. El Prado Boulevard after failing to stop at the scene of the collision.

At the time of the incident, officials report that the SUV was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Dale Mabry Highway when it hit the bicyclist at the intersection with W Mango Avenue. Following the crash, northbound traffic on Dale Mabry Highway was diverted at Mango Avenue for investigation but has since reopened in all directions.

Detectives continue to follow leads in their search for the driver involved in this case. “Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call Tampa Police at 813.231.6130 and refer to report 25-485989.”
