Tampa Police peacefully resolve armed standoff on Estrella Ave

Tampa Police resolved a standoff involving an armed man on W. Estrella St. late Monday night. Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of an adult male inside a vehicle making suicidal statements while armed.

After several hours of negotiation and de-escalation, police took the individual into custody at 11:15 pm without incident. The department reported that all roadways along Westshore Boulevard have reopened to traffic following the resolution.

The Tampa Police Department expressed appreciation for community cooperation during the incident. “The Tampa Police Department thanks the community for your cooperation, patience, and understanding as officers worked to ensure the situation was resolved successfully.”

Authorities stated that this remains an active investigation and further updates will be provided as they become available.
