The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data tables detailing the foreign-born population by generation, based on findings from the 2024 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC).

This latest release includes social and economic information on employment status, education, household income, poverty status, race, age, and sex. The data are organized by first generation (foreign-born individuals), second generation (those with at least one foreign-born parent), and third-and-higher generation (individuals with two U.S. native parents) populations residing in the United States.

The Current Population Survey is recognized as one of the nation’s most established surveys. It serves as a primary source for monthly labor force statistics and is also used to collect information for studies tracking economic and social conditions across the country.
