The University of South Florida (USF) has announced that Dr. Moez Limayem is the sole finalist for the position of university president, as recommended by the USF Presidential Search Committee. The Board of Trustees will consider his candidacy to become the ninth president in the institution’s history.
Dr. Limayem is scheduled to visit USF next week, where he will meet with students, faculty, staff, and administrators across all three campuses. Forums are planned for Monday, October 13, at the Tampa campus (Sam and Martha Gibbons Alumni Center), Sarasota-Manatee campus (Student Center Ballroom), and St. Petersburg campus (University Student Center Ballroom). The sessions are set for 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 p.m., respectively.
Members of the university community are invited to attend these forums or submit questions for Dr. Limayem using an online form. RSVPs and questions should be submitted by Friday, October 10. Organizers note that not all questions may be addressed due to time constraints and some may be consolidated if they are similar.
In addition to public forums, Dr. Limayem will participate in meetings with groups representing students, faculty, staff, and administrative leaders on Tuesday, October 14. Invitations for these smaller sessions will be sent separately.
Mike Griffin, Chair of the USF Presidential Search Committee and Vice Chair of the USF Board of Trustees, expressed appreciation for community engagement in this selection process: “Thank you to everyone for your continued engagement in this process to select our next president.”
