The Vanderbilt estate known as “Miradero” in Gulf Stream has been sold for $21.6 million after spending one month on the market. The property, located at 1443 North Ocean Boulevard, was designed by Maurice Fatio and built in 1928 for Lila Vanderbilt Webb, a granddaughter of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt.
The Ganger Miradero Community Property Trust, representing the Ganger family, sold the estate to an undisclosed buyer. The deed has not yet appeared in public records, and details about the buyer remain unknown. Pascal and Antonio Liguori with Premier Estate Properties were responsible for listing the property, while Candace Friis with the Corcoran Group represented the buyer.
The Ganger family had owned Miradero since 1970. Robert W. Ganger, who died in April according to his obituary in Coastal Star, made it his primary residence. He had a long career at General Foods—the company that succeeded Postum Cereal Company before being acquired by Philip Morris Companies (now Altria) for $5.6 billion in 1985—and later merged into Kraft Foods. His father, Robert M. Ganger, was known as an advertising executive credited with helping popularize diet soda and filtered cigarettes.
Robert W. Ganger and his wife Anneli restored Miradero during the 1990s. The compound consists of three buildings with nine bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a pool, and spans 121 feet along the beachfront.
Last month, the estate was listed for $25 million on Zillow before selling below asking price. This transaction is among several high-value sales recently recorded in Gulf Stream; earlier this month attorney Henry Rosen purchased another oceanfront home at 3435 North Ocean Boulevard for $22 million. In 2024, Debra Levitetz set a town record when she sold her oceanfront teardown for $39 million.
